Pear benefit and harm

Pears are a highly dietary product, their energy value is only 42 kcal per 100 grams, so they are recommended for diabetic patients.

Useful Properties

Pears have useful properties not only fresh – most of the characteristics are preserved when they are dried, decoctions, infusions, juices and jelly are made. These fruits are characterized by anti-inflammatory, fixing, antipyretic and disinfecting effects. A decoction of pears is used for inflammatory processes of the bladder, cystitis and diseases of the urinary tract. Boiled and baked fruits help against severe cough, bronchitis, suffocation and pulmonary tuberculosis.

In the east, a decoction of pear leaves is actively used as an anti-inflammatory and antifungal agent. They are treated with seborrhea and dermatitis, and also used as an external disinfectant powder from dry crushed leaves of wild pear.

However, there is also relative harm. Pears are not recommended for people who are prone to diseases of the digestive system, since due to the large amount of dietary fiber, they irritate the intestinal mucosa and increase peristalsis.

Cooking application

Pears make excellent compotes, jelly and nectars; in kitchens all over the world, they are used to make jams, fillings for pies and cakes, make candied fruits, dry and dried fruits are used to make drinks. Fresh fruit is used to make liqueurs, liqueurs and wine. Pear has a delicate characteristic aroma, so it is used to flavor food, drinks, coffee, tea and tobacco. Many perfumers use essential oils to create aromatic compositions.
