Sesame oil benefits, benefits and harms of calories

Sesame oilSesame seed oil is a popular Asian food. In the European culinary tradition, it is administered in homeopathic doses and is certainly diluted with olive or vegetable oil. Dressing interrupts other ingredients and fills the dish with a single, but overly strong, accent.

There are 2 main types of oil:

  • from raw sesame seeds (light);
  • from roasted sesame seeds (dark).

Dark has a more pronounced taste and aroma, so 1-2 drops of the product will be enough to not overdo it with an annoying taste. Used in salad dressings and marinades.

Sesame oil is not suitable for frying food. When heated, the product becomes bitter and begins to smoke sharply.

Useful properties of the ingredient

The benefits of the ingredient are concentrated in fats. Sesame oil contains equal proportions of Omega-6 and a small amount of Omega-3. A few tablespoons of oil per day will replace therapeutic pills and liters of fish oil. Oil wins in contrast: it costs much less, and the taste is disproportionately more pleasant. What are the benefits of fats for the human body:

  1. Normalization of the cardiovascular and nervous systems.
  2. Restoring the balance of sugar and fat metabolism.
  3. Strengthen the protective function of the immune system.
  4. Maintaining the sexual system. In women, the normalization of the menstrual cycle and the maintenance of “female” health.
  5. Prevention of cancer development.
  6. Removal of toxins, toxins, heavy metals, even from inaccessible corners of the body. Lower cholesterol. Antiseptic, antifungal and detox effect.
  7. Improving the work of the organs of vision.
  8. Strengthening of the bone system, help in the development of cartilage tissue.
  9. Improving the condition of the skin, hair, nails.
  10. Improving the functionality of the brain, liver, nervous system and gastrointestinal tract.

Benefits for Digestion

GastritisThe product neutralizes the increased acidity of the gastric juice and soothes the gastrointestinal tract. The composition of the oil has a laxative and anthelmintic effect, creates a special film on the organs, which protects against pathogenic substances, ulcers and damage to the mucous membrane. Doctors introduce the ingredient into the diet of patients with gastritis, ulcers, colitis, problems with bowel movements. Phospholipids, which are part of the composition, stimulate the work of the bile ducts, restore the liver at the cellular level.

Harmonization of increased brain activity

Doctors insist on the use of sesame oil by people with high mental loads for 3-m reasons.

  1. The oil has a high nutritional value, is able to quickly and permanently saturate the body and “push” the feeling of hunger to the background.
  2. Omega-3-6-9 protects the nervous system from overvoltage, ensures psycho-emotional health, normalizes memory, helps to concentrate. Healthy fats – prevention of Alzheimer’s disease and multiple sclerosis.
  3. With high mental stress, nerves lose. A person is eternally tense, overexcited and is on the verge of an emotional breakdown. Sesame oil enzymes are antidepressants. They suppress anxiety, reduce stress and make all body systems feel comfortable and harmonious.

Benefit for selected patient groups

Oil must necessarily be included in the diet of women. The product strengthens women’s health, helps the development of the embryo during pregnancy, helps to establish lactation, provides a constant flow of milk, regulates the functioning of the reproductive system during menopause.

Another group of patients who show sesame oil is overweight people. The substances that make up the product, accelerate the synthesis of insulin, accelerate metabolism and help “break” body fat.

Dosage Features

The dosage of the oil (for therapeutic purposes) should be determined by the doctor. If you are healthy and just want to enjoy a healthy and tasty product, then get around 2-3 tablespoons. Do not forget that the children’s body also needs saturated and unsaturated fats. Parents should strictly follow the dosage so as not to provoke an imbalance and not cause additional troubles.

Application of the product in cosmetology

Sesame oil is a frequent ingredient in cosmetics and daily care products. What is the ingredient so loved by the beauty industry:

  1. Suitable for the whole body: face, sensitive area around the eyes, hair, nails.
  2. Deeply nourishes and moisturizes even dry skin.
  3. Creates a universal lipid film that protects the dermis from moisture loss, exposure to aggressive external environment. This property is suitable only for owners of dry skin. Oily skin independently cope with the nutrition and protection of the skin, and an overabundance of the film itself leads to the development of subcutaneous lesions.
  4. Rejuvenates the skin, smoothes the first wrinkles, gives the skin a natural shine and even tone.
  5. Starts cell regeneration and renewal. Fights hyperpigmentation, but is not recommended for use with acne.
  6. It nourishes the scalp, strengthens the follicle, makes the hair more healthy and alive.

Application for skin

The oil is suitable for dry, hardened, lost skin tone, when the main purpose of cosmetics is to nourish, tighten and make expressive. Owners of dry and normal skin can use oil as a prophylaxis of aging, and not as a fight against it. Enter a few drops of sesame oil into your basic jars for care and evaluate the result: the elasticity will increase, wrinkles will go away and will not appear for a long time, the skin will tighten and become soft to the touch.

Sunbathing with oil

The oil has a high SPF factor, which also has a beneficial effect on the appearance. Especially desperate women take a bottle of oil to the beach with them, and not a specially designed cream. Do not conduct similar experiments and pick up a sunscreen in the nearest pharmacy. Oil can cause a burn (despite a high level of protection), cause rashes, itching and irritation. In addition, the smell emanating from you, just do not like others, and oily smudges throughout the body will not add to the beauty of the beach body.

Beauty treatments for hair

Hair tip oilUse oil as an independent cosmetic product or combine with other food products. The ingredient can only be used as a mask for the tips of the hair. Do not dilute with oil masks and balms for professional care. Your skin, after each application of the diluted product, will become oily, the pores will begin to clog, and your hair will fall out and break down intensively.

Use in cooking

Much has been said about the specifics of sesame oil, but what is this unusual taste? The aroma is formed from several notes:

  • raw / roasted sesame;
  • nut;
  • sugar;
  • spices based on herbal ingredients like rosemary and thyme.

The taste palette from which the oil is formed is itself strong and stable, so the product must be used carefully and accurately. Consider how to combine the ingredient, so as not to make the taste buds “hurt” and not waste food. In our culinary tradition, oil is combined with vegetables. Both sweet (corn, pumpkin), neutral (cucumber, tomato), and pronounced (eggplant, beets) vegetables are suitable.

What else to combine oil:

  1. Meat and fish dishes.
  2. Honey (to create a marinade).
  3. Seafood.
  4. Baking and sweet desserts: as a substitute for sunflower or coconut oil. In small quantities gives a nutty caramel flavor.
  5. Pilaf.
  6. Pizza.
  7. Deep fat fryer
  8. Vegetable puree.
  9. Soup and cream soup.
  10. Hummus.
  11. Cereals.

Rice with garlic and shrimpsWe need:

  • rice vinegar for sushi making – 100 g;
  • jasmine rice – 500 g;
  • cane sugar – 50 g;
  • arugula – 150 g;
  • sesame oil – 50 g;
  • garlic – 15 denticles;
  • fish sauce – 3 tablespoons;
  • lemon – 2 pcs;
  • Shrimp – 500 g;
  • cilantro – 50

Preparation

Boil jasmine rice. Prepare a deep pan (it is recommended to use cast iron), heat up, pour in sesame oil, add chopped garlic and fry until golden brown.

Culinary tip (1): Fry garlic gently. If you overdo the product, you get a rancid wet substance.

Take a small bowl, mix in it the juice of 2’s lemons, enter the fish sauce, vinegar for sushi, cane sugar and peeled shrimp. Mix well and place in a clean frying pan. Fry without oil until the juice, exuded in mass, begins to boil. After boiling the juice, reduce the heat to minimum and pour boiled jasmine rice.

Culinary advice (2): try to allocate the time as efficiently as possible and send the rice to the pan to the shrimp as soon as you are ready. The consistency of the dish depends on the temperature and structure of the boiled grain.

After the rice, enter the arugula, cilantro, roasted garlic. Stir well and stew for several minutes. When ready, remove the heat, but let the dish “rest” for another 3-5 minutes under the lid, so that the rice can soak in the palette of taste of each ingredient. Serve as a main dish.

Culinary advice (3): if you do not have sushi vinegar at hand or in the nearest supermarket, then do the cooking yourself. Mix rice vinegar (more affordable product), rice vodka (can be replaced with sweet sherry) and sugar.

Side effects and contraindications

Despite the huge list of useful and medicinal properties, sesame oil can harm the human body. The rich composition of the product can react with acids and give the exact opposite effect. Oil is incompatible with such substances: aspirin, oxalic acid and derivatives.

What is fraught with the simultaneous use of oil and acids? The combination of elements forms an insoluble substance. This substance stimulates the development of kidney stones. Excess calcium intake provokes problems with the urinary system. A person experiences constant discomfort, does not have the ability to cope with a need, but constantly feels this need (the symptoms are similar to cystitis).

Another absolute contraindication is the individual intolerance of the product or substances that make up. Experts do not recommend injecting oil into the diet of patients with increased blood clotting, varicose veins and a tendency to form blood clots.
