Chickens Dominic

Very good chickens for growing in the household is the Dominic breed. The bird was bred in the USA by the first settlers. It is characterized by high productive performance, as well as endurance. Currently, feathered pets of this breed are represented by a relatively small population. These rare birds may soon be lost if they are not rescued.

The number of eggs laid per year by one laying hen can reach 180 pieces. The average egg weight is 55 grams. Chickens reach a weight of two kilograms three hundred grams, roosters can gain up to three kilograms two hundred grams. The safety of chickens and adult birds reaches 97%.

Dominic chickens are distinguished by a calm character. They do not conflict with individuals of other breeds. These feathered pets are completely tame. Even adults without fear and apprehension approach a person and climb into his arms. However, in case of danger, Dominic roosters become aggressive, they can attack a beast that threatens chickens and chicks. Laying hens of this breed are good, caring mothers. They readily hatch offspring.

Dominic are chickens intended for home rearing. They are characterized by beautiful, soft and abundant plumage. Lush feathers allow the bird to endure even the most difficult weather conditions and low temperatures. The physique of these feathered pets is medium in size. The head of the chickens is small, as is the length of the neck. The face is not feathered. The comb is large. The lobes are represented in red, the earrings are rather large, slightly rounded. The beak is longish, slightly rounded at the end, it has a yellow tint.

The back of Dominic chickens is wide, the feathers on the neck are quite long, covering the shoulders. The wings are practically invisible under the plumage on the lower back. The high-set tail is not too long. The legs of feathered pets are long, but they are hidden by thick plumage.

The best way to keep a Dominic bird is a walking system. Chickens should be placed in a spacious poultry house and provided with a large walking yard. This will allow feathered pets to move more, as well as to seek and consume nutrients and various types of pasture: insects, grass and others.

The main diet of poultry should consist of grain mixtures including wheat, barley and oats. In the cold season, vitamin products can also be added to the feed, which will allow chickens to strengthen their immunity.
