Nectarine benefits and harms

The taste of nectarines is slightly sweeter than peaches, and, oddly enough, are less high in calories. Nevertheless, the calorie content of nectarine is quite high – it contains 267 kcal per 100 grams of product, mainly due to the sugar content, so they should not be consumed in large quantities for diabetics and people with increased body weight.

The beneficial properties of nectarine make it a desirable fruit on our table. The high content of vitamins and minerals ensures the prevention of vitamin deficiency, strengthens the immune system. The beneficial substances contained in these fruits increase the secretion of the digestive and biliary glands, contribute to the rapid digestion of poorly digestible, heavy or fatty foods. The fiber in nectarines makes the intestines easier to work with.

Fresh nectarine juice helps with stomach acidity, constipation and indigestion. Nectarine is also a great natural laxative and mild diuretic. Some varieties of nectarines contain edible seeds that vaguely resemble almonds in their properties. They are used for the preparation of liqueurs, alcoholic tinctures and other types of alcoholic beverages.

“Smooth peaches” are eaten fresh, and also this fruit lends itself well to canning. They are used to make compotes, syrups, preserves and jams.
