Growing conditions

This variety is well suited not only for growing in greenhouses, but also in open ground. To get an earlier harvest, it should be planted under the shelter of the film.

In a greenhouse or under a film, the plant can be transplanted in mid-May, and in open ground – in early June.

A huge role is played by high-quality, timely planting of tomatoes in a permanent place.

Features of landing

First, the seeds are planted in a container to a depth of about 2 cm. The planting period varies between the end of March and the beginning of April. Before this, it is advisable to treat the seeds with a weak solution of potassium permanganate and then rinse. Then they are covered with glass or polyethylene film and left in a warm place until sprouts appear.

After their appearance, the plant should be provided with a sufficient amount of light (if necessary, lamps can be used). After that, you need to keep the seedlings at a temperature of + 15-17 ° C for about a week so that the seedlings are not too high, and then the temperature can already be raised to room temperature.

When the first leaves appear, the plant is planted in pots. During its development, the soil must be fed 2-4 times with complex fertilizers. About a week before planting, seedlings should be hardened off, periodically opening a window or taking them out to the balcony for a short time. Every day, gradually increase the hardening time.

It is necessary to plant a plant approximately on the 60th day, when it already has 6-8 leaves and at least one flower brush. The distance between the bushes should be 50-70 cm, and between the rows – 70-100 cm.

You can not save land during planting. This tomato needs a lot of nutrients and air. If there is not enough space on the plot or in the greenhouse, then you can plant tomatoes more densely, but in this case you need to constantly cut off excess leaves and side shoots, and also feed the plant well.

It is very important to water the tomatoes in a timely manner with warm settled water, fertilize several times per season, loosen, hill and weed the beds.Several early tomato king

Also, the bushes must be tied up, despite their small growth, since the fruits of this variety are powerful and heavy. In addition, they need to be stepchildren, otherwise the plant will not have enough light and air, and it will start to hurt. So that the tomatoes do not rot and do not get sick, it is necessary to cut off the lower leaves when the fruits form at the lower ovaries.

In strong heat, it is recommended to shade the bushes using a special fiber or mesh for this.

If these rules are not followed, the tomato may get sick and / or not give a good harvest. If all the recommendations are taken into account, this will not happen, however, preventive measures are necessary: several times a season the plant must be treated with special chemical or folk remedies.

Diseases and pests: prevention, symptoms and methods of control

One of the most common diseases of this variety is late blight (covering fruits with brown spots of rot and a whitish bloom on the back of the leaves). To avoid it, the plant is treated with the Barrier preparation, three weeks after planting in the ground, and a week later with the Barrier. In the future, the tomatoes are treated twice with Oxyhom, with an interval between sprayings of about a week. Of the natural remedies, garlic infusion is the most effective.

With waterlogging of the soil and an excess of nitrogen salts, fusarium occurs (yellowing and wilting of the leaves, covering the root neck with a pink bloom). To prevent this disease, the ridges should be carefully hilled and the plantings should be treated with solutions of protective preparations “Barrier” and “Hom” using a sprayer.

Also, with excessive watering, you may encounter the “Black Leg” (blackening of the stems near the soil and abundant spots on the leaves). With this disease, the seedlings begin to dry and soon die. To prevent this, you need to ventilate the room well, water the plant moderately and treat it with potassium permanganate (1 g of potassium permanganate in 10 liters of water).

In some cases, after treatment with chemicals, the fruits cannot be eaten for a long time.

The whitefly feeds on the sap of plants, discoloring their leaves and leading to death. To prevent the appearance of this pest, it is necessary not to thicken the plantings, ensure their ventilation, do not spray in wet weather and fertilize the soil. To combat the whitefly, there are many means: sprays, sticks, soluble powders and fumigators.

The spider mite entwines the leaves and twigs of tomatoes with cobwebs and sucks the juice out of it. Affected leaves become covered with yellow spots and dry up, and punctures are visible on the upper part of the leaf. To destroy the tick, tomatoes are treated with garlic infusion or Karbofos.Carbophos

Slugs devour fruits and leaves of tomatoes, which leads to their decay. To get rid of them, sprinkle the soil next to the bushes with ground pepper (1 tsp. Pepper per 1 sq. M), and also spray the ground near the tomatoes with a fresh solution of lime. After watering, the ridges must be well loosened.

Medvedka digs passages near the surface of the soil, gnaws the roots of seedlings and young plants, leading them to death. They fight it by watering the soil with a solution of vinegar, pepper infusion, a chemical preparation for the destruction of harmful insects and the offspring of “Thunder”.

Glue traps can also be used to control pests. They do not have a negative impact on the environment and are very effective.

Application

“King of the Early” is universal in application. Almost everything can be made from it: juices, pastes. It is ideal for preservation, and it can be consumed both fresh and in various salads.

It may seem that this variety requires a lot of effort, however, it is not. He only needs the disciplined implementation of all the rules. If you follow them, then you will not have any problems. With good care, the “King of the Early” will delight you with a wonderful harvest and delicious fruits!
