The variety belongs to the determinant type with limited growth of bushes. The central tip stops growing due to being held back by the brush. The bush itself is medium in size, reaching a height of up to 80 cm when grown outdoors. In greenhouses, tomatoes can grow up to 1,3-1,5 meters.

The leaves of the plant are medium-sized, rich green. A feature of this species is a small amount of foliage, this requires additional protection from direct sunlight.

  • a feature of the variety is the presence on one bush of fruits of flat-round and ribbed forms;
  • the number of seeds is insignificant, they are placed in six seed nests;
  • the aroma of fruits is classic, they have an average density, fleshy structure and excellent taste.

Growing conditions

The Abakan pink variety is grown in open ground and in greenhouses. The place of cultivation directly affects the height of the bushes: with the same yield per bush, it can vary by almost two times.

To get a good harvest, bushes should be properly planted. Tomato planting scheme – 40 × 50 cm. On one square meter, you will be able to plant no more than three plants.

Tomato of this species requires the constant formation of bushes, they need to be tied up. It is recommended to grow it with two stems.

As for care, the Abakan pink is unpretentious. It should be regularly watered with warm settled water in the evening.

The soil near the stems must be weeded and loosened. For the entire period of growth, tomatoes are fed 2-3 times with mineral fertilizers. Plants take them very well. Every two weeks organic fertilizer is applied to the beds.

Features of growing tomatoes varieties “Abakan pink”

Growing tomatoes of this variety is quite problematic, as it requires knowledge of certain agricultural practices. Only by fulfilling them, you can achieve a good harvest. Primary requirements:

  1. Do not plant on 1 sq. m. more than three bushes of tomatoes.
  2. Correctly form stems, leave no more than two. The second stem is grown from a well-formed first stepson. All other shoots and lower leaves growing to the first fruits are removed.
  3. The number of brushes with tomatoes should be left up to eight. A few leaves are left above the upper ovary and the top is pinched.
  4. It is necessary to monitor the constant garter of the stem to the support. This should be done regularly as the plant grows. When the fruits begin to form and pour, brushes are also tied to the support.

For growing the Abakan pink tomato variety, light soil with a high nutrient content is more suitable.

Film cover is used. It is used to protect against frost in early spring. The bushes are also covered with a film in the fall – when it gets colder, and unripe fruits remain on the stems.Abakan pink tomatoes on a branch

Pests and diseases

Preventive measures include the treatment of seedlings, before placing them in open ground, with pesticides. This will protect the plant from the Colorado potato beetle. This pest affects only young plants, adult bushes are not interested in it. If the plant is severely affected by this pest, the bushes should be re-treated with pesticides, collecting these beetles manually beforehand.

The Colorado potato beetle is practically the only enemy of the variety. The immunity of the Abakan pink tomato is good and, thanks to this, the plant resists various diseases. This allows you to grow tomatoes without the use of chemicals in large quantities.

Possible diseases of the bushes include late blight. For prevention, during the growing season, plants are treated twice with fungicides. If signs of the disease are detected on the leaves and stems, they are completely removed, taken out and burned.

Application area

Abakan pink is a salad variety. Its application is universal. The fruits are used fresh, for making salads, juices and canned food.

Tomato juice made from fruits is saturated (contains up to 4% sugar and up to 5% dry matter).

Conclusion and advice

To grow a good crop of tomatoes of the Abakan pink variety, you need to properly care for the plant. You should regularly remove additional shoots – stepchildren. As soon as possible, you need to start tying the stems, as they stretch in height. At the same time, they are rather weak and cannot withstand the weight of large fruits. Tomatoes should be watered in the evening with warm water.
