The ancestors of all breeds from the East are horses, which were bred in Central Asia. The Akhal-Teke horses are considered the most ancient variety of this direction. Their appearance is attributed to the 3rd millennium BC. e. The stallions were bred by representatives of the Turkmen tribes. Moreover, the resulting horse with its appearance and speed conquered not only its owners, but also the Persians, and subsequently the whole world.

Arabian horses can also compete with Akhal-Teke horses in terms of their age. They were derived based on:

  • Persian horses;
  • Akhal-Teke stallions;
  • Spanish horses.

The horse of the eastern Karachay breed, as well as the Kabardian and some other mountain breed lines, were formed separately in the Caucasus. To breed such animals, local Caucasian, Mongolian and Persian horses were used. The main difference between these horses is endurance and the ability to move freely along mountain paths.

The importance of argamaks for world horse breeding can hardly be overestimated. Riding horses of the oriental breed are at the origins of almost any modern breed line of horses. They were used to create Oryol trotters. Arabian stallions owe their amazing speed and graceful appearance to English horses. Hanoverian horses were obtained in the same way.

Popular mountain breeds include Karachai and Kabardian horses. All of them are notable for their short stature, downed dry constitution and strong legs with strong hooves. Animals have earned their popularity due to the ability to transport goods in mountainous areas. Not a single horse in the world in this regard can be compared with the mountain.

Oriental horses are known all over the world. Even an inexperienced person admires their amazing grace, graceful appearance and ardent disposition. All these qualities have led to the fact that oriental horses are invariably used to breed and improve many modern varieties of horses.
