A bit of history

Rose miniature Mandarin. Mandarin. Cordes. Rose miniature Mandarin Rose liliput Mandarin Photos of a miniature rose Mandarin at the moment of flowering
Miniature roses owe their appearance to China. They were brought to Europe in 1810, but they received wide recognition only after more than a century.
In 1918, in Switzerland, Dr. Roulette rediscovered the beauty of this plant for Europeans. Having multiplied one bush of a miniature rose, he, in fact, marked the beginning of its new history. It was from these specimens, which later received the name of the Roulette rose, that the modern varieties of miniature roses originated. In Russia, collections of such flowers were adorned with the Imperial Botanical Garden.

It was only in 1940 that Spanish and Dutch botanists began to develop new varieties. Plant breeders have created new hybrids using other low-growing roses. Thanks to their work, a variety of varieties of miniature roses with bright colors and graceful flower shapes have been obtained.

Varieties

Fuchsia indoor flower – plant varieties

Breeders have bred three types of Morsdag varieties: this is the classic Red rose, with pink flowering Pink and the red-orange Orange Morsdag.

  • Morsdag Red (she also appears in some sources as the Rud Morsdag rose) is a polyanthus rose with small double flowers of a deep red hue. The buds are spherical, on the brushes of 5-20 pcs. Spherical flowers open until wilting. This is because the petals are strongly curved inward. The foliage is small, shiny. Abundant flowering from early summer until the first frost.
  • Morsdag Pink is a polyanthus rose with numerous inflorescences, which consist of 6-10 buds. The species is almost odorless. Differs in good resistance to rain and most diseases.
  • Rose Orange Morsdag is a polyanthus rose with semi-double globular flowers of a bright orange hue.

Flowers of the Morsdag variety will adorn any personal plot.

Eternal flowering mini rose “Garden scent” from “Aelita”

To create beautiful flowering borders, design rockeries, flower beds, decorate a winter garden or the interior of an apartment, it is beneficial to use this variety of roses. Its plus is that it can be grown from seeds. Of course, patience is required, but there is a chance to get many plants at once, adapted to the conditions of your particular apartment, without the need for a trip to the nursery. And these seeds can be bought almost everywhere.

These are low-growing plants, up to 25 cm high. They give abundant, almost continuous flowering.

Eternal flowering mini rose is easy to care for, does not require shelter for the winter. When planting seedlings, as the manufacturer promises, it blooms in the same year. Of course, the manufacturer slightly exaggerated, to get seedlings, you will have to spend a lot of time.

According to amateur gardeners, this variety is completely unpretentious. The seeds sown last year give strong bushes with an abundance of green leaves and in the future with many flowers.

Many gardeners recommend planting seedlings if the seeds sown in the ground have sprouted very densely. The most optimal distance is considered to be 25-30 cm between plants.

Germination causes many difficulties. The secret is simple: seeds need a long wintering period. It is optimal to plant them in open ground under larger plants, but given that the pack of seeds is small, it is better to stratify the seeds in the refrigerator. You can mix seeds with sand and put in a glass container without a lid, you can treat with hydrogen peroxide and store in cotton pads, folded together and dampened with water – but in this case, you should regularly check the seeds for mold.

Growing a flower

Rose Penny Lane – characteristics of a varietal plant

In order for Red Morsdag to grow and bloom quickly, the bush must be planted in a sunny area or in partial shade, where there is no draft and cold wind. Saplings are planted at a distance of 25 cm from each other in the spring. Planting density 9 pcs. for 1 m². Planting depth 5 cm. Rud Morsdag needs normal moist soil. In winter, the bush is covered in a very cold area, in summer it is closed from the scorching sun. The plant is frost-resistant, copes with temperatures down to -29 ° C.

Mandarin rose flowers Mandarin

In 1987, breeder Kordes bred this wonderful variety of roses with a cheerful hue. The mixture of salmon pink, yellow and orange petals with a pale center and brighter and darker edges gives the overall impression of a tangerine color. Flowers bloom from small, reddish buds that densely cover the bush. Armfuls of flowers appear tirelessly from June until the very frost. Outwardly, the dwarf Mandarin rose with semi-double, flat-shaped flowers resembles dahlias.

The compact tangerine bush reaches a height of only 25 cm. It is covered with shiny, small foliage of a dark green hue and long, sparse thorns. This is a very beautiful decorative, long-flowering, cutting plant.

How to use the Mandarin variety

Best of all, this rose grows in a sunny place protected from the wind. Group plantings of Mandarin on a rabatka look wonderful, as well as tapeworm plants surrounded by low-growing flowering or herbaceous perennials. The “tangerine” stem is only 50 cm high, so it looks good in tubs and in small flower beds. This dwarf variety is also perfect for creating a bright accent color on the terrace, balcony, front garden.

In the company of Mandarin rose, it is better to choose blue and purple plants to make its orange petals shine even brighter. White flowers also make good neighbors. But variegated plants should be discarded. Evergreen shrubs and trees will help to beautifully dilute the composition.

Care of the plant

In the summer, the flower needs feeding. For successful cultivation, different mixtures are used:

  • sterile flower soil mixture for roses with perlite in a 1: 2 ratio;
  • top layer of garden soil – 40%, perlite – 30%, compost – 30%;
  • mineral fertilizers of slow action.

Crocus flower – varieties of plants for the garden

Superphosphate can be added to the mixtures: 0,25 cups for a large flowerpot or 1 tbsp. spoon for a small container. A thick layer of drainage must be laid out on the bottom.

The frequency of watering varies depending on where the flowers grow. Flowers in containers are watered once or twice a day in hot summer months. But excessive waterlogging should not be allowed.

Important! It is necessary to replant container roses once every three years. This must be done as salts accumulate in the soil. When transplanting, the roots are looked through, if necessary, they are pruned.

Top tips for caring for flowers Morsdag:

  • watering once a week, more often in summer;
  • as a top dressing, they take a special fertilizer for roses. It is better to feed the plants in spring, in June before active flowering;
  • old bushes can be pruned in fall and early spring. In this case, it is important not to damage the young bushes, this can affect the entire growth of the plant. Old, dry branches are subject to removal, chopped ones prevent the growth of young shoots;
  • specialized preparations are purchased for pest control.

Morsdag is unpretentious to care, needs minimal attention and almost ordinary soil.

Appearance and features

The variety of roses Epricot Clementine belongs to miniature varieties. This is a low-growing plant, the height of which does not exceed 60 cm. The stems are abundantly covered with roses, gathering in clusters of 3-5 pieces.

Densely double buds have a classic conical shape. The petals are dense, satin, arranged in a circle, close to each other. The color of the rose changes during the flowering period, creating a chameleon effect.

At first, the buds are bright orange, gradually become more pastel apricot, in the end they take on pink hues. Flowers have almost no aroma.

The Epricot Clementine shrub is low, covered with many shoots with emerald greenery, which looks harmoniously next to bright roses. Due to the abundance of flowers on one stem, it seems that the bush is completely covered with roses. The foliage is small, glossy. There are few thorns on the branches.

Reproduction of a flower

The plant propagates by green cuttings. This is the simplest and most common way. Sequencing:

  1. Cuttings with buds are cut to a length of 10 cm, the lower cut is made at an angle.
  2. The cut stalk is placed in the ground so that it takes root.
  3. The planted cuttings are watered abundantly, covered with a film or other warm material.
  4. In summer, in hot weather, the cuttings are opened, sprayed with additional water.

Pay attention! When leaves appear on the cuttings and buds open, these are the main signs that rooting in the soil has occurred.

Diseases

Does the rose have a gray-white coating or brown balls on the sheets? Methods of dealing with the disease.

Mučnistaâ rosa

Black spots appeared on the leaves of the rose, round in shape, what to do, how to save the plant?

Black spot

The rose is sprinkled with yellow powder, the leaves and stems crack and die, how to get rid of the disease?

Rust

Is there a gray bloom on the rose? This is a gray rot that needs to be removed as soon as possible.

Gray mold

The plant must be watered at the root; more than 8 liters of water cannot be used at a time. Nitrogen fertilizers are useful for a freshly planted Epricot Clementine rose, they need to be applied three times a month throughout the summer season.

Mineral fertilizers are recommended to be added from the middle of summer twice a month. It is also necessary to feed the rose with potassium and phosphorus. All top dressing should be done before mid-September.

You do not need to fertilize the crop later. As an additional source of vitamins, you can use vitamin substances in liquid form, which are sprayed on flowers.

It is necessary to carry out weeding and loosening on time. Weed removal protects the rose from infestation and insects. Loosening saturates the soil with oxygen, which is required by the roots.

In the summer, you need to cut flowers that have faded and withered. In the autumn, a larger-scale pruning is carried out. 3-4 buds are left on the bush, all diseased and dry branches are cut off.

Once every two years, the plant requires global pruning, when old, overgrown shoots are removed from the shrub. This is necessary for the rejuvenation of the bush, the appearance of new shoots. The plant does not need complete pruning, only in cases where the plant is completely affected by some kind of disease. The shrub needs to be covered for the winter with spruce branches or a layer of peat.

Diseases, pests and ways to control them

Miniature rose Morsdag has medium resistance to black spot and powdery mildew. Not afraid of rain. For prevention, it is recommended to periodically treat the plant with fungicides.

Blooming Pink Morsdag

Roses of the Morsdag variety are beautiful miniature flowers that will adorn any personal plot, flower bed, park. They are unpretentious, grow in different types of soil. They are presented in several types, the most popular: Classic Red, soft pink Pink and deep orange Orange.

Petite naughty young lady

Created this variety Kordes in 1987. When I saw the name of my favorite breeder in the catalog, I immediately decided to take this rose, because it was Wilhelm Cordes who created my favorite variety – Salita. But I was slightly mistaken. even the maestro has mistakes.

Rose miniature Mandarin. Mandarin. Cordes. Rose miniature Mandarin Rose liliput Mandarin Photos of a miniature rose Mandarin at the moment of flowering

This rose is often referred to as miniature, patio and polyanthus. I strongly disagree with the latter, because on polyanthus roses there are bunches of flowers of 20 per branch. Tangerine is an ordinary patio rose, very small in sprout. I have it barely grown to 20 cm. You can only plant such a baby from the front of the flower bed, to the border. otherwise she will be lost behind the neighbors ..

In width, the bush categorically refuses to grow. from the word completely, although the bush is already 3 years old, but it still remains a small pale lump, indistinct color.

The flowers resemble pompom dahlias in shape, at the beginning they are orange with pink with a sunny yellow center. It turns out such a beautiful color gradient with a smooth color transition from a bright yellow center to a red-orange edge of the petals.

In the sun, treacherously fade to salmon and almost white. The bush looks untidy because of this. See for yourself.

Features of agricultural technology

Amandine is a light-loving shrub. With this in mind, this variety should be planted in an area flooded with sunlight for most of the day. But it is desirable that in the summer from noon to about 15:00 the flower is in openwork partial shade. The culture must be protected from cold drafts, for which it is not recommended to place it in open areas devoid of large greenery. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure normal air circulation around Amandine – in order to prevent the appearance of harmful insects and fungal diseases. The original rose prefers loose, nutritious, slightly acidic soils with good drainage. In the selected sector of the site, you need to dig a planting hole with a depth of 0,5-0,6 meters, connect the soil with vermicompost, humus and peat. Half of this mixture is poured into the hole, but only after a layer of fine gravel has been laid on the bottom. Then the seedling is lowered into the pit and the roots are covered with the remaining substrate. Before planting, it will not hurt to soak the roots of the plant in water for half an hour. The planted shrub is watered abundantly.

Culture care is not too difficult. It includes standard measures: moistening the soil under a flower, loosening and mulching, removing weeds, feeding, pruning. Water the rose in hot weather 2-3, the rest of the time – once a week. Several buckets of soft water, slightly warmed up in the sun, are poured under the Amandine bush. It is better to do this in the morning or in the evening. They loosen the soil in the area of the trunk circle at least twice a month. At the same time, as necessary, weeding is carried out. Next, the soil under Amandine is covered with mulch, ideally with a mixture of sawdust, manure and deciduous humus.

For top dressing, organic and mineral fertilizers are used. The first ones are applied under the rose only in spring, to stimulate the growth of green mass. As soon as the first buds begin to tie on the rose bush, the organic matter is changed to mineral concentrates. Top dressing continues at the peak of flowering culture. In the spring, with the beginning of the sap flow process, the plant is pruned. Dead, too weak and damaged shoots are subject to removal. During the summer, faded inflorescences and dried leaves are promptly removed from the shrub. In autumn, in order to prepare a perennial for winter, strong shoots are shortened, the bush is spud with dry soil and covered with spruce branches or textile insulation. Taking into account the susceptibility of the culture to fungal diseases, it should be treated with a fungicide solution three times per season for preventive purposes.
