Race neoregelia (Neoregelia) includes epiphytic and terrestrial plants directly related to the bromeliad family. In nature, they prefer to grow in the tropical rainforests of Eastern Colombia, Eastern Peru, Brazil, and Ecuador (in swampy areas).
