The use of sage internally is recommended for milder forms of diabetes mellitus, due to the fact that it reduces blood sugar levels and cravings for sweets.

Tea bags made from leaves are very popular; it is easy to brew, and it performs several functions at once, treats a number of diseases in a complex manner. Essential oil of clary sage is used for rheumatism, as well as for the treatment of pain in muscles and joints. Freshly plucked leaves can be used to brush your teeth and freshen your mouth.
