Redbrough chickens

One of the many breeds of chickens that can often be found in the backyard is Redbrough. They belong to the meat and egg direction of poultry productivity. Their homeland is France, where they were selected in the 1960s of the last century.

Redbrough chickens have red plumage. Their main distinguishing features are unpretentiousness to the conditions of detention, high activity, calm character and rather large size. Feathered pets quickly get used to any climatic conditions and endure both heat and severe frosts.

The weight of the Redbro laying hens varies between three and four kilograms. Their productivity reaches three hundred eggs per year. Sexual maturity in chickens occurs at the age of five to five and a half months.

Due to the fact that Redbrough chickens grow somewhat more slowly than many other breeds of chickens, they are less likely to suffer from many diseases, such as leg problems. Also, these feathered pets have tastier meat than laying hens of other breeds.

When growing the Redbrough chicken breed, special attention should be paid to chicks, especially those that are not yet fully grown and fledged before the onset of cold weather. The room in which they are kept must be heated in winter to avoid problems with hypothermia and disease. It is also very important to correctly compose a feeding ration for the bird. In addition to grass and insects, laying hens need additional food. They need to be fed a flour mixture and whole grains, feed of animal and mineral origin, and it is also important for laying hens to give foods that contain a large amount of vitamins.

To raise healthy and highly productive Redbrough chickens, feed them with baker’s yeast supplements, sprouted grains, mineral supplements. In the diet of birds should be wet and dry mash.
