Pushkin breed of chickens

The Pushkin breed of chickens is very popular with numerous poultry farmers. Despite the fact that it was bred less than twenty years ago, it quickly spread to many regions and won the love of household owners who breed feathered pets in their backyards.

Breeders obtained the Pushkin breed of chickens, first crossing white leghorns of roosters with layers of Australorps of black-and-white plumage, and the grown-up individuals were crossed with broilers with crosses with white and colored plumage.

“Pushkin” chickens belong to the egg direction. They have a very beautiful striped-variegated plumage. Roosters of this breed have a white feather color with dark spots. For a year, laying hens lay about 200-220 eggs, the shell of which is white or light cream in color. The weight of the egg is 57-60 grams. Adult chickens grow up to two kilograms of live weight, roosters weigh up to two and a half and even a little more than a kilogram. When hatching, the safety of young animals reaches 95%.

The birds of the Pushkin breed are very tall, they have long legs and a beautifully vertical tail. On a slightly elongated, but small head, there is a pink, large, smooth crest. Strongly curved, short beak, has an ivory color. The eyes of the chickens are orange, slightly bulging. The lobes are presented in white-pink color. A very beautiful neck in feathered pets of this breed is long, highly raised. A lush mane stands out well on it. The physique of laying hens is wide, presented in the form of a trapezoid, the back narrows towards the tail.

Pushkin chickens are distinguished by lush, dense plumage and long, slightly lowered wings. This bird has strong, thick, long metatarsus, white, like the claws, in color. She has a calm disposition and tolerates cold winters well.
