Outwardly, it resembles an ingenious interweaving of lace, the plant retains its decorative properties until the very frost. Autumn mixborders, flower beds and rockeries, thanks to cabbage, become more elegant and colorful.

An ornamental plant quickly takes root in a loose, high-density soil with an average acidity. For the beds, it is better to choose areas where potatoes, legumes, root crops or onions have previously sprouted.

The most common varieties:

  • The tongue of a lark, which is very similar to a palm tree due to the height of the stem and the shape of the green curly leaves;
  • Sunset is an unusually beautiful plant with gray-green leaves and a purple-pink core, in some places with a red tint.

In addition to its bright decorative qualities, autumn cabbage has a very useful composition. Its leaves contain a large amount of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Salads are prepared from it, as well as stewed and boiled as a separate dish.
