How to fit and care for a swimsuit

Today, we will talk about how to grow and care for a swimsuit. It is known that this plant is one of the most unpretentious garden flowers. A large number of memories from childhood are associated with it, when children walked through the woods and tore off a swimsuit to weave it into their wreath.

In order to plant this plant, you first need to properly prepare the soil. It is important to note that the swimsuit develops well and grows in fairly shaded areas. If you plant it in an open, sunny area, you will notice that it will quickly fade and shrink. The best option for planting it is well-drained, loose and moist soil. But, it is important to note that this flower grows well in any soil, except dry and sandy ones.

Add 5-6 kilograms of peat with humus to the garden bed for planting this plant per square meter. In addition, you should also add a flower mixture for the soil, for example, it can be “Saintpaulia” or “Azalea”, and add one tablespoon of nitrophosphate.

Breeding swimsuit

Since the seeds of the swimsuit germinate rather unevenly and slowly, it is usually propagated by dividing the bush. Thus, you can purchase ready-made seedlings in pots at any flower shop, which must be planted on well-shed and dug soil. Or you can use your swimsuit bush cuttings. Do not shake off the roots of this plant when digging out of the ground, as it has very delicate roots that tend to dry out and die off quickly. Because of this, the plant can be very difficult to take root in a new place. It can live for several years without a transplant in one place, as it does not tolerate frequent site changes.

Midsummer is most suitable for transplanting, since during this period the plant is dormant after it has bloomed. Dig up the bushes using a sharp knife. Then divide them into several small divisions. You should have about 3-4 buds on each of them. The next year, bushes will grow from such seedlings, which will have 5-6 peduncles each.

Top dressing and care

Young bathers should be spilled well in dry weather. Spillage should not be done abundantly, but often enough. Also, it is important to know that this plant does not require shelter for the winter, as it tolerates it well. Absolutely any type of swimsuit will delight you with its flowering almost every year.

It is necessary during the cultivation of the swimsuit, it should be fed with small doses of this solution: dilute one tablespoon of nitrophoska in 10 liters of water, the same amount of “Agricola” for flowering plants and urea. It is best to carry out such feeding in early May and repeat it in the period before the flowering of the plant.

After feeding, you will notice that the splendor and brightness of the flowers will increase significantly.

How to grow a swimsuit from seeds

To do this, plant seeds should be sown in early January. Then, for 3 months, they are kept at a temperature of 2 to 4 degrees. Further, these boxes are transferred to a room where they are kept for some time at room temperature. Carry out a pick, or, in other words, a transplant, when the first leaf appears on the seedlings. In August, the flower is planted in a permanent place, while observing the distance between the plants of 30-40 cm. You will see that your swimsuit will begin to bloom next year.
