A huge number of plants got their names from their discoverers or breeders. But there are many colors that are named after famous personalities from other spheres of life: astronauts, musicians, rulers and actors. Here is some of them.
Tulips Yuri Gagarin
This unusual flower mesmerizes with its yellow glow. The fiery trail of fire resembles a rocket taking off and enchants with its splendor. These tulips bloom up to 3 weeks and grow to a height of one meter.
The flower glass retains its perfect shape. It is not hard to guess that this variety was bred in Russia. A flaming tulip creates a festive backdrop for a wide variety of spring compositions.
Flowering begins in May. “Yuri Gagarin” is a champion in terms of resilience, it can grow both in the shade and in the sun, it is able to survive drought, short-term frosts, and does not require shelter in winter.
Rose Louis de Funes
The rose, named after the comedian Louis de Funes, is filled with light and serves as an inexhaustible source of inspiration for many gardeners. This variety was developed in France in the 80s. Louis de Funes personally chose this rose for himself.
This is a very beautiful plant of tangerine, yellow-orange, apricot or peach color. Single large flowers reach 15 cm in diameter, 48 slightly twisted petals with a wavy edge form a single whole.
The rose blooms from June to the end of September, a large number of buds are formed on the bush at the same time, which slowly bloom. The aroma of honey and lavender notes spreads far around the rosebush. This variety is distinguished by a high level of frost resistance, it tolerates shade and drought well.
Phlox Alice Freundlich
One of the most wonderful examples of domestic breeding is the panicled phlox “Alisa Freindlich”. This variety was bred relatively recently, but quickly became very popular among gardeners.
Delicate orange-pink strokes on white petals and a bright crimson ring at the center give the bush an extraordinary appeal. The plant blooms profusely and for a long time, tolerates prolonged rains well and does not fade in the bright sun.
In the dense inflorescence of phlox, there are many buds, making the bush very lush. Alisa Freundlich blooms from mid-July to late September.
Chrysanthemum Alla Pugacheva
Chrysanthemum “Alla Pugacheva” has large flowers, up to 22 cm in diameter. The bush reaches a meter in height and has many large leaves.
Chrysanthemum blooms in September – October and can winter outdoors without shelter. This is a fabulously beautiful variety with large, bright, harmonious flowers – petal to petal.
The beauty of “Alla Pugacheva” is literally mesmerizing. The plant is very hygrophilous, loves fertilizing with mineral fertilizers.
Rose Brigitte Bardot
This variety of roses is red, with light stripes and streaks of white silver, has a faint aroma and large double flowers of 26 – 40 petals, open, cup-shaped. The rose blooms throughout the season.
Bushes “Brigitte Bardot” are vertical and very thorny, have medium-sized foliage and reach a height of 110 cm. “Brigitte Bardot” is a hybrid tea rose with a pleasant aroma. The flowers bloom on the bush very slowly and last for a long time, and also stand great in a cut bouquet.
Orchid Princess Diana
The stunning beauty of the orchid has several points of growth, but only one shoot becomes the main one. It is a medium-sized plant with elongated, pointed leaves.
Flowers of “Princess Diana” have a velvety texture, with very delicately painted petals. Growth occurs in the winter, and in nature this plant lives in high mountains, low temperatures, ambient light and high humidity. The orchid blooms 2 times a year. “Princess Diana” feels good in normal room conditions.
Rose Paul McCartney
This flower has won many awards at the most prestigious contests. Paul McCartney is distinguished not only by its bright beauty, but also by its amazing aroma. Double flowers of classical shape have about 40 petals and reach 10 cm in diameter.

Jackie Chan Orchid
The last plant in our collection, but not the least beautiful, is the Jackie Chan Orchid. This is a specially bred majestic flower, large and lush. It has a bright color with a wavy white frame.
The plant reaches a length of 70 cm, the flower itself is purple, with dark veins. The reddish purple orchid petals wriggle very gracefully. The plant literally amazes with its exquisite beauty.
