Four wonderful lianas, whose homeland is ancient Asia, have long settled in gardens with a temperate climate. Jackmanii
Clematis Zhakmana is a type of flowering lianas. You will not find this plant in nature, but in European gardens, the hybrid took root for a long time. Clematis has long, pointed leaves, collected in three or five on a brown stem. Flowers are able to impress even a sophisticated observer: large, up to 15 cm in diameter, they are arranged one by one, and sometimes two or three. The color of the petals is quite varied: pink, blue, purple and white.
Clematis blooms early. In the middle lane, the first leaves appear in early May. From this moment shoots begin to grow. At the end of June, the vine opens its buds, this lasts until the end of August. Single flowers can be seen later.
Clematis Zhakmana takes root in the garden without any problems and grows very quickly. Soils are preferable to neutral or alkaline, loose and fertile. Liana needs to be constantly watered to get abundant and lush flowering.
Maidwell hall
Maidwell Hall grows up to 3 m, flowers appear only on last year’s shoots, which in no case should be cut off. Flowering time is from April to May. Clematis blooms again in summer.
The petals of this variety are simply luxurious: deep blue in color with a delightful lilac hue, double and rather large. Even when clematis does not bloom, it looks great, thanks to the foliage and figured fruit.
Perennial is completely undemanding to growing conditions and soil composition. Perfect for vertical gardening: seedlings are placed near a hedge or a decorative pillar, you can also plant clematis along with low conifers at the corner of the house.
Markham’s pink
Clematis Markhams Pink blooms early and very profusely on last year’s shoots. The flowers are large enough, pink, with many petals. Clematis blooms again in summer.
Due to its excellent decorative qualities, this variety has become extremely popular among gardeners. With the help of climbing shoots, they create bright drapes for columns and arches, as well as spectacular borders and hedges. You can place plants right next to the wall of the cottage. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that rainwater does not fall on the roots in a continuous stream and does not stagnate in the soil.
Markhams Pink very successfully fulfills the role of a ground cover plant. It is resistant to difficult weather conditions, but it is still advisable to plant seedlings in well-lit areas without through winds. The best soil for them is fertile and loose loam.
Sunset
Sunset is an early flowering large-flowered clematis. The height of an adult plant is up to 3 m. Already in May, one can observe velvet pink-lilac flowers with stripes and graceful petals. Clematis blooms on last year’s shoots until June, and re-flowering occurs a little later.
The culture grows well in the sun and shade. The color of the petals does not change with bright light. You can combine a liana with a coniferous bush and decorate fences and a gazebo with it. Sunset looks great by the windows and walls of the country house.
The plant is resistant to frost and is quite adapted for temperate latitudes. It enjoys stable popularity among European gardeners.
