Chickens: Wet chickens: what to do?

In order for the chickens to grow quickly and feel good and comfortable, it is necessary to constantly monitor their maintenance, regularly change the litter, control the temperature near them, etc.

Some poultry farmers from time to time face a problem when chickens get wet and this leads to the death of feathered pets. The reasons for this phenomenon may be the poor installation of the drinker, when the bird, approaching to drink, climbs onto the container or into the container with legs and knocks it over. After some time, the chick begins to freeze and dies. To prevent this from happening, you should properly fix the drinker and in no case put it on the floor so that the chickens cannot climb into it with their feet.

Another reason why the chickens are wet may be due to improper feeding of the chicks, which leads to diarrhea. With diarrhea, the plumage (fluff) of a bird becomes wet and this is dangerous not only for the chick that has problems with stool, but also for all its neighbors. Therefore, in no case should you feed moldy food, too wet mixers and juicy grass to small feathered pets.

Straw, sawdust, or any other type of bedding for chickens should be changed as needed. We must also not forget that the room where the chicks are kept should always be warm and dry, and drafts and dampness should not be allowed. This negatively affects the health and well-being of small feathered pets.
