Broiler chickens Cobb 500

Among the huge number of different breeds of broilers, Cobb 500 chickens are very popular. Their main distinguishing feature is high precocity and a large amount of tasty, juicy, white meat.

In appearance, these birds are no different from other broilers. Their plumage has a white color, and the skin of a yellowish tint does not change color throughout the life of feathered pets. This is due to genetic characteristics. “Remove” the yellowness from the carcass allows pigment feeds, which are increasingly used by experienced poultry farmers who have repeatedly encountered the cultivation of this breed of broilers.

Chickens Cobb 500 are characterized by a high percentage of survival. The safety of the young is about 96% of all born chicks. In the first five weeks of life, these birds are able to gain almost two kilograms of live weight (1,9 kg), and in six weeks – up to two kilograms of four hundred grams. The entire population of these feathered pets is homogeneous, all chicks grow and gain weight equally quickly and well.

Another benefit of breeding Cobb 500 broilers is feeding. They are able to gain good weight in a short time even when using the cheapest feed. Its quality does not play a big role for this bird. And the feed consumption per unit of white chicken meat itself is small when compared with many other breeds of broilers.

And at the same time, it is not difficult to acquire such chickens today. They are sold in big cities. And the cost of daily chicks does not exceed the cost of other breeds of broilers of the same age. Therefore, rearing and keeping Cobb 500 chickens is cost-effective, cheap and efficient. However, it is very important to constantly monitor their correct maintenance and the most nutritious and balanced feeding.
