Anacyclus
Anacyclus, although it looks like a chamomile, but it is a completely different plant. The genus is represented by annual and perennial species. Completely unpretentious to care for, he prefers sunny, dry areas. It grows poorly in humid conditions, since the roots are prone to decay. Blooms from June to September.
The height of the stem is up to 10 cm and the plant, as it were, spreads along the ground, radiating rays along the surface. That is why landscape designers love to use it as a ground cover plant in alpine slides.
The flowers do not exceed 5 cm in diameter and have one feature – if there is not enough light, they close. At night and in cloudy weather, the buds are closed. In order not to confuse them with chamomile, look at the back of the petals – it is colored red.
Nivianik
The second name is meadow chamomile. An unpretentious perennial plant of the Aster family. Looks good in group plantings, used for making bouquets. There are about 70 types of daisy, but 3 are used in gardening: ordinary, largest, magnificent.
Nivyanik inflorescences are simple, double and semi-double with a flower diameter of 6-12 cm and a stem height of 20 to 100 cm.Flowering in species begins in different ways: some in early summer, others – at the end of June, and some can bloom two times per season.
Nivyanik loves light fertile soil, sunny areas or a little partial shade. Regular watering is preferred, but stagnant water is contraindicated.
Daisy
The daisy belongs to the Aster family. There are two types: annual and perennial. Annuals are mainly used to decorate balconies, and perennials are grown in the garden.
Perennial daisy has a height of 10 to 30 cm and beautiful flowers up to 8 cm in diameter. Inflorescences can be simple, double and semi-double, and in structure – tubular and petal.
Daisies prefer sunny places on the site, they are not demanding on the composition of the soil, they like regular watering without waterlogging and need to be fed 2 times per season. They bloom in the second year after planting and delight the eye from April to May.
Pyrethrum
An unpretentious perennial plant from the Aster family. It is sometimes called “Caucasian chamomile”. The height of its shoots is 50-70 cm, the diameter of the “basket” inflorescence is 3-6 cm. There are about 50 types of pyrethrum, but 3 species have won popularity among gardeners: maiden, pink, large-leaved.
Feverfew maiden looks like small chrysanthemums, grows in a compact bush from 20 to 50 cm high. Flowers are white or yellow. Pyrethrum pink has a height of 60 to 70 cm. Flowers in the form of a “basket” are bright pink, scarlet and dark red with a yellow center. Large-leaved pyrethrum is a bush up to 1,5 m high with white inflorescences.
The plant prefers the sun, but can grow in partial shade. The composition of the soil is not demanding, but does not like heavy and swampy soils. Blooms in June – July.
Brachycoma
An ornamental annual plant from the Aster family. One shoot can grow a whole bush 30 cm high, on which about 100 fragrant inflorescences grow. There are 50 plant species in total, but only one is widely known – Iberisole brachycoma. On the basis of it, many varieties with beautiful colors have been created. They can be: blue, white, purple, purple, pink, lilac.
Brachikoma is a thermophilic plant and does not tolerate frost. That is why it has only existed for one year. In late February or early March, you need to sow seedlings. After emergence, at the end of May, plant in open ground.
Brachikoma loves lighted areas and loose dry soil, requires feeding 3 times per season. This plant was chosen by snails and whiteflies, so it must be treated with special means. The bush blooms from July to September.
